christophersebela asked: Margo Martindale.
Here I have drawn Mags Bennett for your amusement.
Anonymous asked: Any thoughts on the 2003 Snake series set "directly" after the film? Will any effort be to maybe indicate that those things could have happened?
Not really. I’ve purposely avoided both the Snake Plissken Chronicles and the Adventures of Snake Plissken because we’re doing a fresh slate thing here and I don’t want these things to seep into my head.
It’s the same thing we’re doing on the Prometheus/Aliens/AvP/Predator books at Dark Horse, which come with a much huger chronology of comics stories in the past. If someone insisted it had to fall into line, I would’ve made it happen, but no one has, so I’m trying to carve out my own path.
rferrier asked: Give it to us straight: what's your thoughts on Escape From LA?
I’ve always loved ESCAPE FROM LA for my own special reasons. While I *probably* wouldn’t fight anyone who says different, I won’t be dissuaded from loving what I love about that movie.
[SPOILERS] It has possibly one of the best endings of an action film ever, where Snake basically destroys the world because, well, why the hell not. Also it has a scene where Snake has to shoot 10 free throws in a row or get shot to death and he does it without breaking a sweat. I also love that it took 15 years to get made, leaving a big blank spot between New York and LA and it has at least 3 times the big weird ideas that Escape from New York does and it’s a movie set in 2013 that comments on the late 90s in our version of America.
But mostly it tends to make me super sad because they never got to make ESCAPE FROM EARTH and lets all sit back and think how much awesome that would have been. But fingers crossed on that last one, I’m hoping I can fool someone into letting me do that at some point.
Anonymous asked: So I have to ask : given that comics are a mainly visual medium, do you feel shitty being announced on a book without an artist?
Shitty? Nope. It’s a pretty common practice. The whole side of the comics business called marketing is something I don’t really deal with outside of creator-owned and one that I have literally no control over in this instance. There’ll be an announcement about the artist forthcoming and it will be awesome and we’ll all hold hands together and be walking in the sun when it does.
